Lylle and Nick

Lylle approached us explaining that he was planning on proposing to his partner Nick, so wanted matching rings. They’d previously been to Japan and he’d been drawn to the fine, narrow men’s wedding bands that were widely worn there. We met, I took notes, and off I went, to make these super simple rings.
The next morning, while running (where most of my ideas stem from) I remembered the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where cracked pottery is repaired using gold inlay. The idea of bonding two halves to create something beautiful, thus making a feature of the cracks.
I loved the Japanese link, and decided to throw this idea out to Lylle. Maybe we could add a sliver of rose gold, as a nod to that amazing vacation they’d shared? He loved it.
And this was the result. Simple meets sentimental.
