Courtney and James
James approached Bert with an interesting concept. He had his Mothers engagement ring and wanted us to reuse the diamonds for an engagement ring for Courtney. However, he wasn't sure exactly what design she would love. We discussed her style, her most coveted belongings, and her passions to try and gauge some inspiration. We decided to create two very different engagement ring options....The safe bet, and the wild card and render them in a way that he could present both design options to her, allowing her to choose her dream ring, or to create something completely unique.
We had three diamonds of a similar size to play with, so we got to work. The safe bet was a clean, crisp, 18ct white gold trilogy ring. With the wildcard however, Bert had some fun! We decided to set the central diamond in a cushion-shaped setting, surrounded by pavé diamonds to make the central section really stand out. We created a filigree gallery, giving a subtle nod to a more traditional style, seeing as we were using his Mothers original diamonds. However we punctuated the base of the ring with our signature bezel-set diamonds. We pulled it all together with a typically-Bert-style, curvaceous band.
James proposed at Christmas. He made Courtney a photograph album of the incredible memories they had made, and presented this to her, wrapped up. When she got to the last page of the album, there were Bert's two rendered ring options. He told her to choose one. Of course she said yes to marrying him! And (happily for Bert) she chose the wildcard and we were able to create this completely unique engagement ring!
